As a Senior SW QA Engineer on the GigaSMART team, you will lead quality assurance efforts for advanced security features in complex, high-performance networking products. You will design and build lab test beds, define and automate test strategies, and ensure our solutions meet rigorous security, performance, and scalability standards. In this role, you will collaborate closely with development, automation, and support teams to resolve field escalations and continuously improve product quality. Your work will directly impact the reliability and security of mission-critical deployments for our largest customers.

What you’ll do:

  • Design, implement, and maintain lab test beds to validate complex security and networking features.
  • Create, review, and manage functional, performance, integration, and interoperability test cases and test suites.
  • Execute test plans with a strong focus on customer quality, including manual and automated test execution.
  • Develop and maintain automated test cases in parallel with manual testing, and work with the automation team to integrate them into the full regression test suite.
  • Investigate and reproduce field escalations by collaborating with support and development teams, and drive resolution of reported issues.
  • Create, reproduce, and manage bugs on a daily basis, ensuring clear documentation and tracking through closure.
  • Collaborate closely with development to drive efficient test progress and bug fix throughput.
  • Analyze hardware and software product architectures to design effective tests and understand implications for feature validation.
  • Characterize, analyze, and help resolve performance and scalability issues in complex deployments.
  • Serve as test project lead on occasion, owning QA deliverables and timelines for assigned projects.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers on QA processes, tools, and technologies.

What you’ve done:

  • Acquired 5+ years of hands-on QA testing experience in the security domain.
  • Strong expertise in VMware, Nutanix, or Openstack.
  • Built deep expertise in proxy, firewalls, IDS/IPS, data protection, encryption solutions, and authentication systems (such as LDAP and SAML).
  • Gained experience with enterprise and service provider network security deployments.
  • Demonstrated strong proficiency in Internet and security protocols, including TCP/IP, HTTPS, SSL/TLS, and key management.
  • Planned and executed functional, performance, integration, and interoperability testing for complex products.
  • Created, implemented, and reviewed manual and automated test cases and comprehensive test suites.
  • Used test case management tools such as Mercury Quality Center, TestRail, or similar platforms.
  • Developed strong network configuration and troubleshooting skills in multi-layer, multi-vendor environments.
  • Utilized packet capture and analysis tools such as Wireshark and SnifferPro, and interpreted packet captures to diagnose issues.
  • Authored and maintained scripts in languages such as Python to support test automation and tooling.
  • Used bug tracking systems such as Bugzilla, Jira, or similar to manage defects and project progress.
  • Led or supported test or project leadership activities and contributed to mentoring junior QA engineers.
  • Earned at minimum a BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent field.

The base salary compensation range targeted for this role is expected to be between $124,000 - $155,000 (subject to terms and conditions of the plan). This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices.
